I want to order a DVD or Blu-ray. What does region 1 and region 2 mean?

DVD

DVDs are coded for certain regions - depending on the settings of your DVD player you may or may not be able to play certain DVDs. More recent models are usually (or can be set to be) region free, which implies that DVDs of any regional encoding can be played. This can be found in the user manual of your DVD player. If your DVD player is bound to a certain region, you need to buy the appropriate DVD, or it will not play.

Region 1 = US
Region 2 = Europe

Blu-ray

Blu-rays are coded for certain regions - depending on the settings of your Blu-ray player you may or may not be able to play certain Blu-rays. More recent models are usually (or can be set to be) region free, which implies that Blu-rays of any regional encoding can be played. This can be found in the user manual of your Blu-ray player.  If your Blu-ray player is bound to a certain region, you need to buy the appropriate Blu-ray, or it will not play.

Region A = US
Region B = Europe

Important notice

Please note that we cannot accept returns due to incorrect regions for DVD's or Blu-Rays if the protective seal and/or plastic wrapping has been opened. It's important that you check the product specifications before your purchase.
